What and When is World Malala Day?

Share

Do you know when is World Malala Day? It is today! Every year on July 12th, we honor the remarkable Malala Yousafzai and her solid advocacy for girls’ education around the world.

Why is Malala an Inspiration?

Malala’s story is the story of strength and resilience. She protested  against Taliban-imposed limitations on girls’ education. Even when she was a teenager, Malala spoke out passionately for all girls’ right to an education.

In an attempt to suppress her voice, the Taliban shot Malala on her way home from school in 2012. The world was shocked, but Malala’s spirit remained unbreakable. She amazingly recovered and emerged stronger, with her voice reaching an even larger audience.
