Apple’s New iOS 26 Beta 2 Solves Liquid Glass Glaring Issues

Share

iOS 26 Beta 2, released on June 23, 2025, has apparently solved one of the many glaring issues in the Liquid Glass technology (the most anticipated and talked-about innovation since its announcement at WWDC 2025). The new updated release, specifically for developers, has solved several issues and introduced new widgets and features. Let’s explore the new update in detail in this blog.

Liquid Glass Tweaks

The Beta version received a lot of negative feedback on the screen transparency. The screen was so transparent that it made it difficult to locate and identify buttons and apps. The new version has this problem solved, and now visibility is much better while maintaining the glass refractive properties.

Design and Notification Enhancement

Moreover, the safari ‘+’ button position has been restored to the bottom left of the screen (iOS 18 version style). Another new aspect introduced in iOS 26 Beta 2 is the separate colour notification badge, i.e, blue notification for the messages and notifications from unknown senders instead of red.

Stability and Bug Fixes

The new update has resolved the control center background clutter issue. Now they have applied a background blur system which conceals the homescreen items better and gives a clear control panel view. Moreover, as an Apple user, you might be familiar with a weird pink streak on the screen, and the camera control switching glitch (camera not turning on and not switching to other apps) in the iPhone 16 series has also been addressed.

Some of the other fixes include: fixing the mail app launch crash, the legibility of the Apple TV app has improved significantly, and last but not least, the Apple Play Automix feature is also working fine now.

New Widgets and Features

Who doesn’t know a special iPhone ringtone, right? Well, Beta 2 has got a new ringtone version of Alt 1, this new gift to your ears also comes with easy ringtone creation options.

Secondly, Apple has also brought to life the order tracking feature announced at WWDC 2025. There is an option in the wallet section where you can allow Siri to access your mail app and track all the orders, even if you have not placed them using Apple Pay. Moreover, there is a new live radio widget option available in the new update.

AI & Accessibility Improvements

Live call captions have seen a major overhaul, UI has significantly improved, and now you can save and rename live caption scripts. Additionally, now you’ll be notified whenever there is a new participant in the conversation.

Beta 2 has brought major visual intelligence improvements; now you get better screen recognition. more secure screenshot lockups, more intelligent shopping guidance and information, along with an intelligent calendar.

Additional Additions

  • Now you can recover your non-booting iPhone without needing a Mac/PC.
  • Low power mode is better sought, and now it will clearly depict the impacts this mode has on the device’s power usage.

What’s In The Future

Although iOS 26 Beta 2 has solved many complaints from the Beta version, many users are still not so happy about the non-customizable control panel, as they prefer a custom settings option better than one-size-fits-all. Hence, this version is also probably not the final one. Industry insiders are expecting a Beta 3 version in August, followed by the final release in mid-September.

Conclusively, Beta 2 is all about clarity, legibility, and polish, from wallet tracking to a clear, clutter-free control center. With all the above-mentioned improvements and innovations, this iOS version is expected to support all the devices from iPhone 13 and up, including SE second generation and newer iPads for iPads os 26.
