Apple Could Launch A New iPhone SE And Power Beats 2

Share

According to Bloomberg’s report, Apple is all set to launch a new iPhone SE and Power Beats 2 on February 11, 2025. The launch is expected to be on a small scale as the tech giant has not rolled out invites for either a virtual or an in-person launch event till now.

New iPhone SE

The new handset will be the fourth release of Apple’s more budget-friendly range. It will be the first version of the phone in the said range since 2022. The third-generation device that was released as part of the broader iPhone 13 portfolio bore a price tag of $429. It had specifications similar to the iPhone 8, with a fingerprint scanner. However, the device has been discontinued in the EU due to its non-compliance with the Common Charger Directive Legislation

Therefore, as with all Apple’s products in the line, the iPhone SE is expected to have a USB type-C charging port. As per the insights, the product will be in line with the features of iPhone 14 which was released shortly after the release of the third version of the device. The new SE is also expected to have face ID biometrics, marking the official end of Apple’s fingerprint touch ID.

The new iPhone SE is expected to have great adoption outside of America especially in the top two largest smartphone markets namely China and India respectively. China has long been the key market for Apple. However, the sales have depleted by 11% for the last quarter. This drop was analyzed to be caused by the continuous rise of local manufacturers including Huawei. Moreover, trade restrictions and tariffs from the Trump administration have also added to the cause.

Power Beats 2

In addition to the new iPhone SE, Apple is also expected to announce the release of Power Beats 2 – the branded headphones. The newer version will be released almost six years after the first-generation product. The new Bluetooth-supported headphones are expected to be Apple’s first branded headphones with a built-in heart rate tracker. This product is part of Apple’s vision to extend wearable health initiatives beyond the Apple watch.

Moreover, later this year, Apple is expected to release new refreshes M4 for MacBook and iPad Air. Along with this, the company is also trying to enter consumer robotics with a rumored addition to its smart home line (a device with a display).
