New LMT’D V2 Torque Sensing eBike Introduced by Ride1Up

Share

Ride1Up, a San Diego-based electric bike company renowned for its value-driven commuter models, has launched the torque sensing ebike: LMT’D V2. This upgraded model builds upon the success of the original LMT’D, incorporating key advancements for a more intuitive and responsive riding experience.

Torque Sensing eBike for a Natural Ride Experience

The most important addition to the LMT’D V2 is the addition of a torque sensor. Unlike traditional module sensors that measure pedaling speed, a torque sensor detects the force applied to the pedals. This translates to a more natural riding experience as power delivery adjusts proportionally to your effort. The result is a smoother, more intuitive feel that closely mimics riding a regular bicycle, eliminating the jerky on/off sensation sometimes associated with traditional sensors.

Power, Range, and Control

The LMT’D V2 holds the powerful 750W rear hub motor, offering ample power for conquering hills and reaching speeds of up to 28 mph (45 km/h) with pedal assist (Class 3) or 20 mph (32 km/h) with the throttle. A 48V 14Ah battery with Samsung cells provides a range of 30-50 miles (50-80 km) depending on factors like terrain, wind resistance, and assist level.

The LMT’D V2 features dual-piston Tektro hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm rotors for enhanced control and safety. These brakes deliver excellent stopping power in all weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance compared to traditional rim brakes.

Comfort and Functionality

The LMT’D V2 prioritizes rider comfort with a 100mm Suntour suspension fork that absorbs bumps and road imperfections. WTB GROOV-E 27.5″ x 2.4″ tires provide a comfortable ride and increased stability at higher speeds than narrower tires often found on e-bikes. Fenders are included in the design, protecting you from rain and road spray during your commute.

A handlebar-mounted color display allows riders to easily monitor their ride data, such as speed, distance, battery level, and assist level. Built-in rack mounts can add cargo racks or baskets for increased carrying capacity (sold separately). The LMT’D V2 comes in step-over and step-through frame styles, helping a wider range of riders. Three color options are available: Brushed Copper, Charcoal Satin, and Snowstorm.

A Compelling Commuter E-Bike

The Ride1Up LMT’D V2 is available now on the company’s website for a starting MSRP of US $1,595. Deliveries are expected to begin as early as next week. With its impressive range, powerful motor, comfortable ride quality, user-friendly features, and the addition of a torque sensor, the LMT’D V2 positions itself as a compelling option for riders seeking a reliable and enjoyable electric commuter bike. Whether looking for a comfortable ride to work or a fun way to explore your city, the LMT’D V2 is a strong contender in the growing electric bike market.

While the LMT’D V2 has several impressive features, some riders might prefer a bike with a higher top speed or more cargo capacity. Additionally, the integration of lights might be more appealing to some than relying solely on add-on accessories. It’s important to consider your individual needs and preferences when choosing an electric bike for personal use.

Overall, the Ride1Up’s new torque sensing ebike LMT’D V2 represents an important upgrade over its predecessor. The inclusion of a torque sensor elevates the riding experience, while the powerful motor, impressive range, and comfortable design make it a well-rounded option for urban riders.
